Albariño Submarino

Attis Mar is an Albariño that takes its origins literally. Rías Baixas, the Atlantic, and Galicia's saline energy are not merely a backdrop; they become part of the aging process itself. After its initial work in the winery, the bottled wine goes into the sea, where it ages 12 meters below the surface in the Arousa estuary.

Constant temperature, pressure, and the movement of ocean currents give the wine a texture that cannot be replicated on land. The result is an intense Albariño with aromas of peaches, white flowers, wet rocks, seaweed, and quartz—a wine holding the energy of the Atlantic.

Attis Mar – Albariño Submarino is a wine born in the depths of the Atlantic. This 100% Albariño from Rías Baixas undergoes initial aging before the bottled wine enters the sea, where constant temperature, pressure, and ocean currents act upon it. The result is a white wine with distinctive texture, saline minerality, and Atlantic energy that simply cannot be replicated on land.

VARIETY
100% Albariño
WINERY
Sustainable. The winery takes its name from the Greek god Attis, a symbol of vegetation and rebirth. Bodegas Attis works in the heart of Val do Salnés in Rías Baixas, combining respect for tradition with the courage to experiment.
HARVEST
Hand-harvested into 15 kg crates from the winery's oldest plots. The grapes undergo strict selection.
AGING
The process is divided into two stages. First, 6 months of aging on fine lees in large oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks with regular batonnage. This is followed by a further 6 months in bottle, 12 meters below the sea in the Arousa estuary.
ANALYSIS
Alcohol: 13.0%; pH: 3.25; Residual sugar: < 1.5 g/l. Dry.
TASTE AND CHARACTER
The first impression is pronounced and layered. On the nose, the sweetness of fleshy peaches and white flowers meets a vivid Atlantic iodine note. Wet rocks after the tide, seaweed, and quartz emerge. The palate is full, saline-mineral, and taut, with texture supported by both lees aging and underwater maturation.
SOMMELIER'S TIP
Serve at 10–12 °C. Do not overchill the wine, or it may lose the complexity of its sea aging. Ideal with fresh oysters, lobster, salt-baked sea fish, or Japanese sashimi.
