Forcada

Forcada is a family winery located in Rincón de Olivedo, a small village in the southeast of La Rioja. The winery lies within a biosphere reserve, an enclave in the Alcarama mountains where excellent soil and climate conditions contribute to the superb ripening of their practically organic grapes.
As early as 1910, Marcos Forcada inherited phylloxera-surviving vineyards from his father and planted new ones that remain today. He then rebuilt an old winery and began his wine adventure. The old building eventually decayed. In 2001, seeing renovation as impossible, David Forcada built a new winery with modern technological facilities, now capable of processing around a million kilos of grapes.
“This space, equipped with French and American oak barrels, provides our wine with optimal temperatures to achieve outstanding quality. Extensive viticulture experience and appropriate technology are key factors in creating well-structured, elegant wines.”
