This Garnacha from 50 to 90-year-old vines is grown on the picturesque hills of Rioja at a minimum altitude of 800 meters. It is a unique terroir wine known for its intense red color. Powerful and complex, yet superbly drinkable.

VINIFICATION AND AGING
Pre-fermentation maceration in stainless steel tanks at 5 °C. Followed by 10 days of fermentation at 25 °C, and 6 days of skin maceration for color extraction.

TASTE AND CHARACTER
The wine has an intense, bright cherry color with a pomegranate hue. Complex and perfectly balanced nose characterized by ripe fruit, cocoa, spices and wood. The taste is powerful yet elegant, revealing mature red fruit, dark chocolate or spicy notes (cloves).
SOMMELIER'S TIP
Pairs well with grilled red meat like sirloin steak or lamb, rich stews, and cheese dishes like lasagna or parmesan risotto.

Forcada is a family winery located in Rincón de Olivedo, a small village in the southeast of La Rioja. The winery lies within a biosphere reserve, an enclave in the Alcarama mountains where excellent soil and climate conditions contribute to the superb ripening of their practically organic grapes.
As early as 1910, Marcos Forcada inherited phylloxera-surviving vineyards from his father and planted new ones that remain today. He then rebuilt an old winery and began his wine adventure. The old building eventually decayed. In 2001, seeing renovation as impossible, David Forcada built a new winery with modern technological facilities, now capable of processing around a million kilos of grapes.
